Sterling Silver\u00a0caps with gold filled clips, lined pattern with chevron band.\u00a0 These caps all had a rhodium plating to prevent tarnish.\u00a0\u00a0The finish did not stand\u00a0up to wear too well, wearing inconsistantly, leaving a very unattractive appearance.\u00a0 In addition, the soft metal is very prone to dents and dings, and finding caps in perfect condition is very hard.\u00a0 These caps are\u00a0the most often advertised version of the\u00a0vacumatic “51s” found in print ads.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coin Silver\u00a0caps with rhodium plating and gold filled\u00a0clips.\u00a0 Line pattern of seven lines, space, one line, space,\u00a0and then seven lines ( IIIIIII I IIIIIII )\u00a0repeating all around the caps, and plain cap bands.\u00a0 These caps are not marked as to silver content (.900).\u00a0 The plating did not hold up to wear well, and wears unevenly.\u00a0\u00a0Soft metal dents easily.\u00a0 Very hard to find clean caps with original finish and no marring to\u00a0<\/strong>plating.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gold Filled Caps with\u00a0gold\u00a0filled clips.\u00a0\u00a0Pattern is groups of 4 lines and a sp<\/span>ace, all around the caps, with no cap bands.\u00a0 Gold content at bottom of cap.\u00a0\u00a0The design carried from the First Year Caps, except that it no longer had a rectangle space for engraving.\u00a0 These\u00a0are the most common gold filled\u00a0caps.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
