Smooth Gold Filled Cap with\u00a0gold\u00a0filled clip.\u00a0\u00a0No pattern except two\u00a0etched lines for a cap band.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Gold content up by the clip.\u00a0\u00a0Found with aluminum jewels.\u00a0 The original finish on these caps was a brushed finish, and then lacquered, leaving the space within the two etched lines shiny.\u00a0 The finish did not last long and the caps acquired a shiny finish throughout.\u00a0 A second version is found with gold content at the bottom, underneath the etched band.<\/p>\n

Gold Filled Caps in\u00a0yellow gold with pink stripes (sometimes called “Watermelon” caps), giving it a 2-color effect.\u00a0 Gold filled imprint at<\/strong>
\nthe top of the cap near the clip.\u00a0 Gold filled raised “Wedding Band” applied cap band, unique to first year caps.\u00a0Aluminum jewels. Hand hammered Sterling Silver caps with gold filled trim.\u00a0\u00a0First year caps.\u00a0 Aluminum jewels on pen and pencil.\u00a0 Both pieces are imprinted near the top of the clip with “Sterling Silver”.\u00a0 Not a cataloged item, available by special order only.\u00a0 Pencil is harder to find than the pen.\u00a0 This pattern is very often faked.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lustraloy (stainless steel) caps with\u00a0chrome plated\u00a0clips.\u00a0 These caps had a matte finish with a shiny\u00a0cap band\u00a0when new.\u00a0 Finish was more “brushed” than the later aerometric series caps.\u00a0 The finish did not stand\u00a0up to wear too well and quickly wore off.\u00a0 This was a transition cap after the Blue Diamond guarantee was discontinued.\u00a0 Usually found in vacumatic “51” pens dated 1947-1948 and the early aerometric series pens of 1948-1949.<\/span><\/p>\n

A previously unknown Solid Gold\u00a014k cap\u00a0with a smooth\/no pattern finish\u00a0and 14k clip.\u00a0\u00a0Before this cap was found, the smooth 14k solid gold caps had only been seen with the blue diamond clip.\u00a0 This cap has the plain arrow clip and<\/em> “Parker” on the cap, which would make it correct.\u00a0 In addition, it has the normal tab under the clip, found in all plain arrow caps.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
